Tumbbad
Directorial
debutant Rahi Anil Barve has come with one of the greatest masterpiece in the
history of Indian cinema, and that Is Tumbbad. As the trailer released on internet
it received an overwhelming response from the audience and in the trailer only
it was quite clear that the movie will be something that the Indian Cinema has
never witnessed before, it will be something that the Indian audience has never
witnessed before and I was overwhelmed to see such a beautiful cinematic piece
on silver screen. The trailer of the movie is enough to give you the chills..
here it is..
The movie is
based in the pre-colonial era of India, and is divided in three chapter,
starting from 1918 and ending in 1947. As seen in the trailer, the movie
revolves around the treasure left by ancestors of the protagonist but the
treasure is hidden in the womb of the Goddess who created this universe. The
film is of horror genre but it also has a psychological effect on the audience
as the greed for getting the treasure is shown in such a beautiful way that
when you will leave the cinema hall the images of the movie will flash. Amazing
visual effect and prosthetics will give never make you realize that these is a
fictional tale.
Talking about
good and bad things, there is no bad thing in this movie. I think that the
Indian cinema lovers have not seen anything like this before, the
cinematography is so good that you will really feel that you are in 1918, it
has that intense blueish colouring to give you the horror feel, the music is so
good that, if you didn’t watch it in movie hall you will regret it, thanks to
Ajay-Atul for giving such a chilling music. Apart from this, if i talk about
the script, the background which is given to the whole narrative is so much
intriguing that you will not want to miss any detail in the movie. The history
of Hastar, and the saying that the curse of Hastar is a boon for the people of Tumbaad is itself so interesting
that you really might not wanna miss this flick.
Conclusion is
that, Tumbbad is a beautifully written horror film which is mysterious,
mythical, mesmerizing and I can go on and on… I have never seen such a thing on
silver screen before.. and if you love horror folktales then this one will
definitely take you back to your childhood.
